Recommended Metronome: Matrix MR-600 Can't keep up with the current deals as it changes daily...but try a search on the above and you should find it in the $35-$40 range. They update models periodically, so if the MR-600 isn't available, you might be able to get the same features in a MR-650, MR-700, etc. The features it must have are: 1) Bell on beat one (downbeat), 2) volume control. 3) Loud, very audible clicks--NO BEEPS.
Last time I checked, our local music store did NOT carry Matrix. The quality of the sound (has to be heard over the piano), the bell and volume control are a must--please don't waste your money on a different metronome! Either get your local music store to order this one for you, or buy it on-line.
