Background: Born and raised in the Greater Sacramento Area, I have been dedicated to full-time piano instruction since 1998. I have worked with several piano programs and have completed training courses specifically for teaching piano in addition to undergoing extensive college course work in music instruction, pedagogy, composition, theory and performance. I have a life-long commitment to continuing music education and regularly attend classes and workshops to enhance my skills and knowledge as a music teacher. While I firmly believe in many time-honored traditional approaches that are still relevant today, I am always on the lookout for new ideas to keep things fresh and exciting!

If you are interested in learning to play the piano and you want to learn in a comfortable, fun and relaxed atmosphere, please call me for a free introductory session.
Associations: National Guild of Piano Teachers, Honor Roll 2009

Hobbies: Enjoy spending time with my family; husband Gary and two college-aged children Alani & Andrew. Singer/songwriter on both piano & guitar, I also enjoy daily bible inspiration, uplifting biographies, walking the dog, gardening, hiking, camping, kayaking, fitness training, cooking, exotic foods, traveling & exploring, quiet time in my garden, learning something new...it's all good and I am never, EVER bored! :D
Student Successes: I endeavor to ensure that each student enjoys frequent successes both big and small. Success could mean having a good practice week, mastering a difficult passage or song, learning a new style of music, overcoming performance anxiety...the list goes on.
Strengths: Extremely patient with students and very adaptable to new situations and challenges. I can find the humor in almost any situation and am very easily entertained! :D
Weaknesses: While I am extremely patient with my students, I have been known to suffer from a bit of perfectionism. I can also be a bit of a control freak. Sometimes, I am too easily entertained and can sidetrack and get silly...is that a bad thing? :D
Other Info: Born and raised in the Sacramento/Carmichael Area, where I currently reside with husband, Gary and our five lb. poodle who believes he is Head of Household and the official Guardian of the Chickens.
